Houses set Ablaze as Angry Youths Evict Fulani Headsmen from their Community

In the early hours of today May 13, 2020, a video surfaced online showing the moment houses belonging to Fulani headsmen were set ablaze by some angry youths.

In the 3 mins, 14 secs video, the maker could be heard speaking in Igbo dialect  saying “agwara m unu n’oga ebido, o seti go, Fulani no  n’oso” meaning “I told you it will begin, it begins, the Fulani are on the run”. According to the video maker, the incident was happening in Okpanam Community in Delta State.

In the video, the angry youths could be seen with weapons  pursuing the Fulani headsmen and setting their thatched houses on fire. The  video was shared in a group chat by a group member named Okay Goodluck Nwankwo.

According to stories making rounds, the Fulani headsmen in the community have been committing various crimes ranging from killings, robberies kidnappings etc. these criminal activities which the community could no longer condone then provoked the youths of the community into taking such drastic actions.
