Nigeria: 239 New Covid-19 Cases Confirmed

Nigeria has recorded another 239 new cases of Covid-19. This was made known by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) through its verified twitter handle, in the early hours of Saturday, 10th May, 2020.

These new cases recorded from 15 different states including the FCT, Abuja, bring the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Nigeria to 4,151 with 745 recoveries and 128 deaths. The number of active cases in Nigeria thus stands at 3,278 active cases, with Lagos State and the Northern States being worst hit by the pandemic.

The states involved in the new Covid-19 cases include:
Lagos State – 97
Bauchi State – 44
Kano State – 29
Katsina State – 19
Boronu State – 17
FCT – 7
Kwara State – 6
Oyo State – 5
Kaduna State – 3
Sokoto State – 3
Adamawa State – 2
Kebbi State – 2
Plateau State – 2
Ogun State – 2
Ekiti – State – 1

The NCDC constantly reminds Nigerians of the need to observe the necessary rules, including regular washing of hands, use of hand sanitizers, physical and social distancing, as well as observation of respiratory hygiene, to help bring the spread of the virus to a halt.
