Out of the 2,558 confirmed cases, 400 persons had recovered from the disease and had been discharged, while the death toll rose to 87 persons, bringing the number of active persons with the disease to 2,071.

Nigeria has since closed its interstate as well as international borders to help bring the spread of COVID-19 to a stop in the country. Nevertheless, the border closure seems not to have been completely achieved as different states of the country record new cases as a result of individuals with either local or international travel history.

The testing capacity of the country needs upgrade as there are possibilities of asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19 going undetected, especially in the northern part of the country considering the toll rise of the disease in these areas.
